Today was a slow day…

marketday 1

At our little market we had some setbacks. The market lost their sign and several vendors  did not show. The key is not to be off put I kept telling myself. I kept my eyes focused on my goals. I had set out sales goals before heading out today. More than last week. I had noted that my table got a lot of interest but many didn’t stick. So i added some jam. pickles and relish to cater to people who are less fans of the hot stuff.

Don’t give up!
I think the market crew has caught on that I like to yell at passer by’s on the street. We have to get them into the market! So they put me right up near the entrance. I changed my setup to be more appealing from the street and did better than ever! The awesome labels had pull of their own. Some folks homed in on the hot sauce like bees to a flower and went straight for the taste test! Despite a slow day in terms of foot traffic and the loss of some key vendors I did well. I think enthusiasm and not willing to sit really helped. For all of you out there looking to start your own adventure stop dreaming and make actions! Set goals, come up with a strategy and rework it every week! Once your invested you cannot go back. Ive been working on this project for months and have only had 2 market days. Its challenging. Its hard. Its also super awesome! Dive in and see where your adventure leads!

I have a little secret,
I’m working on something a little sweet right now but I’m not yet sure what I think. In two weeks I think we will do a tasting just to see what is turning out best. T’is the season you might know!

A special thanks to Blare (the designer of the lovely Peach Dragon label) who came out to support our little market this week! It was great to meet you in person! Check the link to more of her art on the Artists! page.

Im looking forward to seeing new faces next week! I’m also very much hoping to see the lovely people who are currently enjoying one of our sauces in the future! Repeat customers means that the sauce was gooooood. Thats really what I’m hoping to hear.
